Food is good, service is slow. Every single time I'm told there will be a wait, they say "It will be four minutes, is that okay?", which is total BS because it's ALWAYS at least 10 minutes, typically 15. They will just plain lie to you. It doesn't matter if you're in the drive through or eating in, rush-hour or not, expect them to lie. Even if you ask them "Can it be ready in 5 minutes, I'm in a hurry?" they will just lie. It's always "Four minutes". I mean seriously, just say it will be 10+ and then I can decide if I want to wait that long! That is a long time to be burning gas at a drive-through, especially in the Winter! I've waited over 20 minutes and they never even apologize or anything. Most places would give you a free side or something, but not here. They take pride is slow service. Sometimes I see them put my food under the heat lamp, then take another 5 minutes to simply put it in the box and give it to me, even when there is only one order of which came after mine. Most of the employees just look...confused, at all times. A couple of them do work hard, but the greater majority move at the speed of molasses. It's hilarious and infuriating at the same time. Somehow the pre-recorded drive-though greeting has been "This is a test message." for at least eight months. Not the end of the world, but seriously guys, eight MONTHS? The drive-through windows are bullet proof (and don't open), yet sometimes they try to talk through them as if you can hear them. I can never tell what they are saying, unless they say "Please pull forward and wait four minutes." because I've heard it so often. They don't use the microphone system, I'm assuming that's broken. The food is typically good however. It's too bad they piss me off or I'd be here more often. Just avoid the shrimp at all costs.

I first tried Popeyes in the George international airport in Texas on a layover and I have to admit the juicy spicy tender basket with a biscuit and mashed potatoes have been haunting me ever since! Fast forward to yesterday I wasn't expecting what I saw lol. This Popeyes was all bullet proof and shorted me a ton of stuff :( I was picking up food for some friends the order was: 2 3pc tenders with mashed potatoes and 1 5pc spicy tender with mashed potatoes and 2 extra sides of large mashed. The 5pc wasn't spicy, we didn't get our 3 drinks that came with it, and we didn't get the 2 extra sides of mashed potatoes. Overall the creepy ambiance just turned me off so I didn't go back to tell them I was missing a bunch of stuff. The food is still good (not as good as the one in TX for some reason) but not worth the hassle in my option. Next!

It's a chicken place well North of 8-Mile with bulletproof glass at the carryout and drive-thru windows. In a neighborhood where you don't seem much in the way of such preventative measures. So make of that what you will. The service tends to be terrible at this particular Popeye's. The staff are slow, tend not to acknowledge new guests until they feel damned well ready, and are more often than not confused about details of the menu or your order. They also tend to be out of things way more often than a fast food restaurant tends to be. I can forgive all these transgressions due to the fact that it is a Popeye's and therefore even when not very good, the food is still light years better than any other fast food chicken joint. KFC? Church's? Bitch, please. You can't hold a candle and don't stand a chance. Get yourself a 4-piece spicy meal with cole slaw, red beans & rice, extra biscuits, and a po'boy on the side. Giddyup. Arguably even better than Chicken Shack. Arguably.

Another fast food place with 'bused' in staff that don't care about anything, and seem to be 'hassled' by their jobs. My chicken sat on the cold counter for 15 minutes while some uninterested thug put my sides into containers, and in between time glancing at the large rear end lady that walked in. 2inches of bullet proof glass, to protect the chicken I assume? Or to protect the staff from angry customers? Gotta love Detroit burbs... Good was good, even the cold chicken was nice.. I can only imagine what it must taste like hot! Edit: Subsequent visits here were GREAT!!! Food was hot, managers were on duty and helpful, prices were just right.. Bumping them up a couple of stars.. Looks like I caught them on a bad day, with some outgoing staff.

Poor Popeyes!!! Lordy. I'm from Louisiana and been going to Popeyes since I was young. The food at this location is just as good as any other location but the employees are totally did functional and ineffective at their jobs. I believe the angry manager lady behind the counter with the bad attitude is the reason for the disfunction. If you eat here, prepare to wait and wait for your order. I'm talking 15 minutes. This happened over and over to each customer.

Stopped in here the other day, after I figured out their drive thru, and after several people going thru where it says "Do not enter" anyway, food was good, but $7 for 3 strips fries and pop? and I too got no straw for my pop. I was getting on the freeway to go to a meeting, so when I noticed no straw, I had to pull around, get out of the car, and run in a McDonalds just to grab a straw. How could you forget a straw? or put the napkins in the box with the food, so the grease is all over the napkin when you go to use it?

I haven't been to Popeye's since Popeye the cartoon was on the air. So at the behest of my 8 nephew, we trekked to Oak Park to get some chicken. This kid loves Popeye's chicken. The menu has changed a lot from the days when Popeye's served everything under the sun and chicken seemed to be an afterthought. I was happy to find Popeye's now focuses solely on chicken - bravo! We order the 20 piece chicken tender dinner, which comes with a couple sides and biscuits. The chicken tenders are out of this world good -- tender, juicy, crispy coating, and tons of flavor. The rice is wonderful... just a bit spicy. The mashed potatoes and gravy gets two thumbs up. I'm not sure what spices are used in the gravy, but it is the best I've had from a fast food joint. I would have given this location 5 stars, but the service was incredibly slow....

i wouldn't write this kind of review for popeye's on greenfield if it hadn't happened to me multiple times. first time: first time i went to popeye's on greenfield i made a pretty big order with my family. they managed to forget everything i ordered and then didn't give me a receipt in the bag. they told me there way no way to prove that i ordered what i ordered and i demanded they look it up and talk to the manager. after maybe 10 minutes of back and forth, i finally got my food. the food itself was actually really good but not really worth the argument. i'm not even sure if they charged me for it since i didn't have the receipt. second time: second time i went, my family member asked for a poboy. he asked for extra mayonnaise and no pickles. the person on the mic said the mayonnaise is in a packet you have to put on yourself. that's fine. this time i did get a receipt. they put my credit card underneath the food and slid the food out to me from the window, dropping my credit card in the snow on the ground. i had to get out of the car and pick it up, nobody apologized. but the poboy he ended up getting did not come with a single mayo packet and had pickles on it. the two things he asked for specifically were not tended to. they also forgot straws on this instance. i would rather go out of my way and drive somewhere else.
